Alain Platel and Fabrizio Cassol join forces once again in a work inspired by Mozart’s unfinished Requiem.
With fourteen musicians from across Europe and Africa, composer and musical director Cassol reconstructs the Requiem using diverse musical influences from popular African music to jazz and opera.
Using the imagery that Mozart’s music conjures up, from the requiem mass to the mass grave into which Mozart himself was dumped, Alain Platel builds a visual world of death and ritual for the musicians and dancers to inhabit.
